We are lucky in Australia to be surrounded by so much wildlife, but did you know in some areas birds and wildlife can wreak havoc on your solar panels. Pigeons and other species of bird can nest under your solar panels creating a number of hazards on your roof.

Additionally, if you have trees surrounding your home and your roof is subject to an increased amount of leaf litter, you may want to protect your solar investment by installing bird mesh around the perimeter of your panels. 

It is important that you keep the roof below your panels clear of any leaf litter or bird nesting to ensure the safety and efficiency of your system. Leaving built-up matter on a tin/colorbond roof for extended periods of time can cause significant rust or damage. Likewise, build-up on a tile roof can cause backflow issues meaning rain can enter your ceiling space and cause building damage and mould issues.
